Target Hazard Analysis Program
Through this program, each business and place of assembly within the city limits is pre-planned semi-annually by a fire company in its district. Each captain is assigned an area of responsibility within the city, and is required to maintain a target hazard file for each business within that area.
Fire companies conducting the target hazard analysis program remain available for emergency response while engaged in this activity.
Be advised these pre-planning visits are NOT inspections for violations. These visits are to help the firefighters know how a building is laid out, how it's constructed, where people may become trapped, entry and exit points, hydrant locations as well as utilities or alarms. The firefighter may take exterior photo's of the business and will draw a floor plan of the business. Below is an example of what may be drawn and put into the unit's laptop computers for access in the future. This is not a business in the city only a reference.
