Suits which may properly be filed in the Pineville City Court include suits on open accounts, promissory notes, evictions, contractual disputes, and actions for money damages based on injury caused by another person.
Details
The following types of cases MAY NOT be instituted in Pineville City Court:
Suits involving annulment, separation, divorce, alimony, separation of property, succession, interdiction, receivership, liquidation, habeas corpus, or the title to real estate.
Suits against a State agency, parish, municipality or other political subdivision, or suits against a public official performing official duties.
