Question
WHAT IS PROPERTY REDEMPTION IN RELATION TO A TAX SALE?
Answer
When property is purchased at a tax sale the original owner has a three year period in which he may redeem his property by paying the original sale amount, including applicable fees, the 5% buyers premium, and 1% per month interest. The redemptions are handled by the City of Pineville and the receipts are forwarded to the tax purchaser.
