Although the City of Pineville was incorporated in 1878, it wasn't until 1931, that a City Hall was first built; constructed on the corner of Main Street and Shamrock Street, at the former site of the Bright Morning Star Baptist Church. The address was(is) 731 Main Street.
The original City Hall housed all administrative offices (and Utility Department), the Fire Department (and sleeping quarters), the Police Department (and jail), City Court (and judges chambers), the Drivers License Bureau and the library.

The current City Hall was built under the administration of Mayor Fred Baden in 1974. It houses the administrative offices, Utilities Department, Police Department (and jail) and the City Council Chamber. There is now an independent Court House next door to City Hall, an Office of Motor Vehicles just up the street, a library around the corner on Shamrock Street and four fire stations throughout the city.
